The musical improv
At one point I was watching a film about a man who was stuck on an island (or I was the man, can’t remember) and he managed to escape by creating a wave that got to the shore and flooded it a little, getting the attention of a local amusement arcade. The owner of the arcade came out and saw him and alerted some boat people to go get him. But when the rescued man was on shore, I noticed that the island he’d been stuck on was only a few metres from the shore. I wondered why he couldn’t just swim it.
In another part of the dream, I was in a pub with mom, and some people were doing improv comedy. I signed up to do some and a woman asked me and mom if we’d be up for doing a musical improv thing. Mom hid under a blanket and said no, but I said I’d be up for it. I went and sat with some of the other performers, who were eating at the time. One Asian girl was talking about her babysitter arrangements for her kids – she had a 9 and 6 year old, and said they were hard work. Another girl had her food delivered and I can’t remember what it was called, but it looked like a big, white crumpet with salmon and mange tout on. I asked her if it was a vegetarian version and she said “No, that’s just what the dish is.” I was embarrassed, but tried to play it off. “Well I don’t know, I don’t know anything about anything, I just say things and hope it’s true.”
