Trouble in Poundland

I can only remember a few bits from last night’s dream.

In the first part, I was at a school reunion, with some people I remembered from college and lots of people who I didn’t recognise. At one point, someone came up to me and introduced a black guy who I’d apparently known in school. I said hello to him and then left with Mike, who was also there. On the way out, I noticed Mike had put his coat over his shoulders (rather than putting his arms in the sleeves) so I made a joke that he was dressed as the Godfather. “You come to me on this the day of my school reunion…”

Outside in the car park, we met up with my family. It was raining, so we had to run to the car. Mother had covered Max in her coat to keep him dry.

Later on, I was outside Poundland sitting on some grass by the carpark with my feet outstretched. A car came round and pulled up right by the grass. As it did, it glided along my legs and spun me round. I got up and went into the shop to hide from the car’s owner. I hid behind a counter right by the door, but the guy came in and found me. He was a big, muscly guy and also had a big, vicious looking dog with him. He called out looking for me, so I stepped forward. He went to have a go at me, but I explained that I was barefoot, so it hadn’t scratched the car. All of a sudden he was fine and acting friendly. His dog too switched from growling and snarling to happy and playful, so I stroked it.

In the final part of the dream, I was staying in a room with a bunch of other people, including a guy called Paul who I know from karate. I was sleeping on the floor and Paul was sleeping on a big sofa. A woman came in and said she didn’t have anywhere to sleep. She kept hinting at Paul, suggesting he could help. She clearly fancied him and was hoping he’d suggest they sleep together. He was completely oblivious and instead suggested looking in a local fitness shop that sells sofa beds. She sat down at the end of his sofa and said sarcastically, “Yeah, that’s a great idea.”
