All to much
Well, what a night for dreaming that was. It started off that I was at home with all my family except my Grandad who had gone missing. The phone rang and I answered it. A guy started talking, pretending to be my Grandad. But for some reason, Grandad was also there and he spoke sometimes. I was confused. I knew Grandad was safe, but he was seemingly letting this guy take on his identity. Eventually we met up with Grandad and the guy. Grandad was okay and saw the whole thing as a bit of fun.
In the next part, I was in a car with my karate instructor, Roger. It was quite a fancy car, but he also had his normal Land Rover that I saw later. We were trying to escape some bad guys, so his driving was pretty wild.
Later on that evening, we were at a hotel and I needed to go somewhere. I went outside and saw Roger’s car, so I thought I’d use that. In the dream, we were sort of partners in our own business, so it was okay for me to borrow his car. I got in the car, but realised I’d gotten in the passenger side out of habit. I got out and walked around the car, but when I got to the other side, Roger was already in the car and drove off without me.
I tried to go back to the hotel, but now it was daytime and there was a big event going on outside. There was some sort of game where Cybermen were trying to catch the humans. There were all different Cybermen from Doctor Who’s Long history, with a few designs I didn’t recognise. I tried to sneak past, but one caught me and then a bunch of them cornered me. I pretended to be injured and they got another Cyberman – who was just dressed in an orange tracksuit and a badly made tinfoil helmet – to carry me to the hotel foyer.
He instead carried me to a local shop, where I bought some soft mints and herbal tablets. I paid with two old one pound coins, but on the way out they realised and stopped me. I had to go back and repay it, but Paul McGann (the actor, who was apparently working there) said he’d sort it. He started looking through a money box, whilst repeatedly saying “Monty Python” in a tone suggested that he was looking for Monty Python, which he wasn’t. I asked him why he was saying it and he said “Because it’s all too much” which was a reference to the Beatles song, All Too Much, but what that had to do with Monty Python I’ve no idea. Maybe because George Harrison wrote it and he was friends with the Pythons? Anyway, he found two new one pound coins in the till and said he’d swap them. I don’t know how that worked, because they still had the old coins, but still.
I asked Paul if he was going to a local convention and the scene cut to him and David Tennant in full costume as the Eighth and Tenth Doctors, respectively, walking dramatically down a battle-torn road, with smoke in the background. Paul was dressed in his Doctor’s Big Finish costume. He called the actress who plays his companion and started talking to her in character.
Then I woke up.
Then I went back to sleep.
In the next part of the dream, I can’t quite remember what happened. These are the notes I made:
Woman ordered magic
Becomes a cartoon character
She struggles with it
From what I remember, her head became a big 3D animated head, a bit like a bobble head. It was quite freaky to look at actually.
After that, I was with Mike. He’d had an operation to make himself taller, but they’d only done the top half, so he had normal sized legs and a stretched stomach. I made a joke that he looked like Miranda Hart, which annoyed and angered him. He ran off and I followed him through town – down roads and side streets.
Eventually I found him in under a bridge, but he wasn’t alone. Matt Lucas, the actor and comedian, was with him. Mike ran off and Matt Lucas pounced on me, pushing me to the floor. He knelt on me and held a knife to my face. I somehow managed to overpower him and he invited me back to his for tea. I went back with him and we were joined by a woman and Warwick Davis. After tea, I apologised to Matt and the woman for something and then left.
In the final part of the dream, I was working for Lego and we were preparing for a big expo. We were in a big hall with hundreds of people building things for the show. I was working with a girl putting loads of Mini figures on a Lego stand. Before long, we ran out of figures. Her friend said she had some more, so they went off to get them. I carried on putting the final few we had on the stand – including a big Iron Man about the size of an Action Man that had separate translucent orange armour you could stick on him. A woman came up to me and asked if I’d write a blog on what I’d been doing. I said I would. Then she went to the front of the room, got everyone’s attention and started giving a talk about the show the next day. During her talk, she also played a trailer for the show.
