Apologies in the coffee shop

Had a dream last night where I was walking through Sutton with mother. We’d just been somewhere and she was in a mood with me because we didn’t get something to eat there. I said we’d go to get something to eat, but she said we didn’t have much time. I said I knew some places that were nearby, so we walked off and eventually ended up in town.

We went into a coffee shop and she had a cup of coffee and a sandwich. I wanted a sausage sandwich, but they’d sold out. A guy who worked there came up to me and mumbled something that I couldn’t understand. His colleague translated it and told me that they would have more sausage sandwiches soon. I couldn’t wait that long, so I just had a slice of cheesecake and a cup of tea instead. When we got to the till, I realised I’d left my drink on the counter, so I ran back and got it and took it to the till. I apologised and the girl on the till said not to worry and stumbled giving me the change, dropping it on the counter and apologising with a nervous giggle – I think she fancied me.

We then sat down to eat our food (and drink our drinks) with a bunch of friends. I recognised them as people who had previously taken ages to eat and always sat around talking after, so I told mother that I was going to eat and then go when I was finished. I don’t think she believed me, so when I’d finished I got up and said to her, ‘I’m going now.’

She followed me and Mike – who was also there – came too. He asked how we were getting home and I said, ‘I don’t think it really matters, this dream’s nearly finished.’

I woke up shortly after.
