Millennium Fun
Had a dream in which I was on holiday with Goodwin. I can’t remember where and the dream didn’t focus too much on the holiday, it was set just after we’d returned. We decided instead of going to work, we’d get a new job. It was a marketing agency round by the Custard Factory. The initials of the company was MF, but what it stood for kept changing every time I saw it. At one point it was Modern Furniture and another it was Millennium Fun.
I got a job as a designer and Goodwin also got a job as an events manager. Our first day did not go too well. I was tasked with designing a logo. I’d come up with a design putting the initials of the company in a rounded rectangle, but I was struggling to use their computer. Goodwin, meanwhile, was doing something for an event that was happening on a Tuesday (it was Friday in the dream) but they had not given him any instructions or told him how to do the job, so he pointed it out that there was still a few days until the event and he could get it done in time if they showed him what to do. Back to me designing this logo and I was still struggling. I’d put three diagonal lines behind it and a stroke around the rectangle, but I’d decided it looked crap and was trying to move the lines off the artboard. The boss then came over and kept going on about the three lines and saying telling me to remove them, so that wound me up and I told everyone in the office that I was trying to remove them. He then pointed out the stroke on the rectangle and said he didn’t like that either, which is when I flipped.
“Y’know what, forget this,” I said, before getting up and leaving. Goodwin followed. Outside we discussed how bad the job was and why we’d both left. I said I was going to go back to my normal job and see if I could still work there, so I went to my normal office. It was only 08:06 and I realised that I was only a few minutes late, so my boss, Dave, wouldn’t have to know that I’d been working somewhere else. I went in and he was sitting there watching TV while he was waiting for everyone to turn up. We had a bit of a chat and then I woke up.
