The billennial bridge
Had a dream in which I was at a college by a beach. They’d recently renovated the communal area with a few small touches. For example, there was a gravel area which they’d added little roads into and a Scalextric into.
I’d made friends with a kid in a wheelchair and another kid. We went outside and the wheelchair kid said he was going to get the lift up to a little cabin to see if he could see us.
While he was doing that, another guy came over and held his hand out to me. I’d seen this guy before and for some reason he seemed to want me to hit him. I had my Doctor Who question mark umbrella with me, so I whacked his hand a couple of times. I was trying to hurt him so he’d stop, but he seemed to enjoy it. He then hit me with a candy cane, so I snapped it in half and said I’d jam it in his eye if he did it again. He got quite excited about that notion, so I threw the candy cane away and told him to leave me alone.
I was then at home watching a Family Guy on TV and Peter Griffin was on a stage dressed in a suit. He told the audience that the theme tune scene at the start wasn’t a clip that was reused, they actually performed it live every week. To prove it, they were doing a special jazz version of the theme this week. I didn’t get to hear it as I turned it off. I’m not a fan of Family Guy.
Later I was at work waiting for a taxi. My boss, Dave, said “Let’s hope he’s not as boring as the last one.”
The driver turned up and started driving the wrong way. He said he had a different route that he wanted to take me if that was okay as it would be quicker. I checked the route on my phone and it looked okay, so I said yes.
He dropped me off at a park in Kingstanding (which doesn’t exist in real life as far as I know). I had a walk round and came out onto a path that was high up and showed a really nice view of the area with lots of fields and trees (definitely not Kingstanding). I decided to get a photo of it to post on social media; but as I leant against the railing it collapsed and sent me flying out to a long drop and certain death.
Luckily I was able to convince my mind to replay the scene and have me keep away from the railing. A man pointed to a sign on the brown, wooden railing that said ‘millennial bridge’ and pointed further down to a different purple railing that had a sign that said ‘billennial bridge’. So I went further down and got a photo from there.
Then I woke up.
